MTM FRANK OLIVER IS PURSUING HIS PASSIONS THANKS TO TACO BELL

Frank Oliver joined Taco Bell with the intention to make some extra money on the weekends, and recently, he was treated to an all-expenses paid reward trip in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico!

Frank’s story began nine years ago, when he started as a team member at Taco Bell. He quickly moved up the ranks to Shift Lead, then Assistant General Manager, followed by Restaurant General Manager, and finally, the Market Training Manager (MTM) role where he is today.

Frank’s Desert de Oro Foods (DDO) journey officially kicked off two years ago, when we acquired the Taco Bell in his market. “When DDO bought our market, I was kind of nervous,” he shares. “But overall, the transition was smooth.”

One of the first positive changes Frank noticed under DDO ownership, was the streamlining of processes, including a more efficient structure surrounding career advancement opportunities. According to Frank, DDO has more resources, and immediately put them to good use!

Another thing that impressed Frank? “Being able to reach out and get in touch with anyone in upper management and get an actual reply!” He says appreciatively.

CAREER SNAPSHOT: 2X THE FUN

One of the main reasons Frank has chosen to remain with the company is the flexibility DDO allows him to pursue his photography business on the side. In fact, DDO has embraced his passion! Frank was invited to photograph Taco Bell’s summer outing, and was even hired to shoot an Area Coach’s wedding!

“What I’ve learned at DDO about running businesses … has encouraged and empowered me.” – Frank Oliver, Market Training Manager

You might think juggling two jobs would be challenging, but Frank is excelling in both his chosen careers. He was one of the top performers for DDO in his region, earning “Store Of The Year” and landing a spot on our inaugural Estrellas de Oro reward to trip to Cabo!

The metrics of a well run restaurant matter. “If those things are going great, typically when you go into that store, it’s a great culture.” he says.

A REWARDING JOURNEY

DDO’s reward trip provided more than some well-deserved R&R. It was also the first time Frank —  and his girlfriend who joined as his plus-one — traveled outside the country! “Overall, Cabo has been amazing and a beautiful experience,” he says.

Frank offers words of encouragement to others. “No matter how rough things seem in the moment, don’t quit, keep going,” he says. “Eventually you’ll get where you wanna be.”

“I want to keep moving up with DDO.” – Frank Oliver, Market Training Manager

As for his next move, Frank is a self-described “go with the flow” guy, and is in no rush to change roles anytime soon. “I don’t know what happens next,” he says, “But, I know I’m excited for it.” No matter what opportunity Frank pursues, he’ll have a hand in making it picture perfect!
