A recent guest appreciation day at our multi-brand KFC/Taco Bell (KT) location on Thousand Oaks Drive in San Antonio, TX gave guests and team members alike some feel-good vibes. It served as a reminder that an extra touch of attention doesn’t take a lot – but it sure gives a lot!

Led by Restaurant General Manager (RGM) Roberto Garcia, the Thousand Oaks crew spruced up the lobby with decor and giveaways like free taco coupons, coloring pages, chocolate chip cookies and candy. When buzz about the event made it to social media, Roberto says some former team members stopped by to help out!

Roberto has only been manager of this KT since February, but he shares that the response from guests was overwhelmingly positive. In fact, their average weekly sales went from $40,000 to $42,000 within weeks of the appreciation event!

“The fact that they keep coming back for the guest experience is amazing,” he says. “That’s how we’re able to build and grow.”

It’s all about taking guests along on this wild journey for great food, community and fun!

According to Roberto, guests expressed appreciation and took photos with members of the team.

“Without them, we’re nothin’,” Roberto shares candidly. “They’re [at] the core of what we do.”

Roberto says the team is focused on continuing to build momentum – he hopes to be No. 1 in sales for the San Antonio market by year’s end. Last he checked, they’d slid into third place! 

“We must be doing something right,” he quips.
