As a Cleaning Captain for Desert de Oro Foods’ (DDO) Taco Bell in Glendale, AZ, Freddie Lopez is well versed in hard work and career longevity. He’s been working in some capacity since he was 13 years old, where he was born and raised on the west side of Phoenix.
Passion for the Work
Freddie’s also a self-professed crier — an indication of his passionate, caring spirit. “I cry at the weather,” he admits. But not to worry! They’re all happy tears. Freddie joined the DDO family four years ago after turning over his landscaping business to younger hands.
“I love working at Taco Bell because they’re like family,” he shares through tears. “Everybody’s always pleasant. They have good dispositions.”
In his role as Cleaning Captain, Freddie also finds variety, running errands and driving to our warehouse to pick up food as needed. “I’m very grateful,” Freddie says. “It’s a great working atmosphere. We all help each other.”

Culture of Caring
Freddie finds comfort in his job and cites DDO’s commitment to making their crew comfortable and showing they care. “They want you to be happy,” he says of our leaders. “I enjoy it immensely.”
When offering advice for current and future team members, Freddie says, “Do your job and do it well and you’ll be appreciated.”
We appreciate you, Freddie!
