We’re back from our third annual Estrellas de Oro reward trip. It was another year of memory making in Mexico! For us, this is culture building at its finest – where we get to treat our stars of gold (“estrellas de oro”) from Taco Bell ,Pizza Hut, KFC and our restaurant support center to a memorable seaside escape.
This year’s Estrellas de Oro trip to Mexico was our biggest yet with around 200 attendees!
Not only does the road to gold look good on Desert de Oro Foods’ (DDO) top performers, so does a little sunshine! This year, we whisked them away to AVA Resort in Cancún where they were greeted with maracas, leis, and a whole lot of cheering.
“This trip’s important because we talk [about] culture all the time in the restaurants,” says Vice President of Operations Fred Bendel. “A lot of companies talk it, but they don’t show it.”
Here’s how we showed this year’s attendees a good time:
- A four-hour catamaran excursion
- Beach volleyball, tug of war, and a potato sack race
- Snorkeling
- Live mariachi music
- Culinary variety with Mexican, Italian, French, hibachi, and more
- Discounted green fees and spa treatments
- Complimentary professional headshots
And to close in good spirit, we lightened the mood with dancing and some fun trip awards like the Kardashian Fashion Award, the Lobster Award and more. As we put away our travel bags, we’re already counting down the days ‘til next year’s trip!
