There’s a special feeling you get when speaking with someone who’s been with Desert de Oro Foods (DDO) for a number of years. The dedication and loyalty is undeniable. That level of commitment is generated from a belief in the principles our mission statement fosters: to be the restaurants our guests desire and the company our employees deserve.
An A+ Area Coach
Lindsey Henry is the Area Coach (AC) of Area 5 in Region 1 for our Taco Bell side of the business. She’s been with us since September 2019 and brings an instant brightness and welcoming aura. A self-described servant leader, she says, “I work for them,” (of her team). As an AC, Lindsey follows the golden rule: treat others the way they want to be treated. “I have the best team,” she beams.
Lindsey has a busy schedule balancing work, online school and her 6-year-old son. She’s working toward securing her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology with a focus on addiction and manages to juggle it all while maintaining a 3.5 grade point average! Of course, none of this comes without lots of hard work. Lindsey shares that she often wakes up at 3:30 a.m. to do her homework before getting her son Brayden off to school and heading to the gym. Brayden is a familiar face at DDO celebrations – where there is cake, there is Brayden! He is her world.
“There are no limitations except the ones you put on yourself.”
– Lindsey Henry, Taco Bell Area Coach
Leaders Along the Way
Lindsey’s journey was not without a few bumps in the road, but she’s proud of the life she’s made for herself. Born and raised in Arizona, she spent her youth going to work with her father, who was in the auto parts business, and made every effort to show her dad that he could be proud of her.
She also cites her grandpa as her role model. Despite losing his sight, he continued to work, unburdened by his circumstances. In fact, Lindsey describes him as the happiest person. She’s taken that to heart and strives to be a positive light for others.
It’s safe to say that both mentors would be proud of Lindsey for earning a spot on our annual Estrellas de Oro reward trip for DDO’s top 15% of performers. The all expenses paid trip to Cabo is the furthest Lindsey’s been from home, but now she’s got the travel bug!
Off the Clock
Time away from work is spent adventuring with family. Lindsey enjoys hiking, axe throwing and even participating in local weight-lifting competitions. She can often be found riding her friend’s feisty horse, who’s described as a good match for Lindsey!
Clearly living with a can-do spirit, Lindsey subscribes to the belief that things work out in the end. There’s always something for you to learn that you didn’t know before. Learn with Lindsey! Search open positions near you.
