When Reagan Elementary in San Angelo, TX reached out to local restaurants for meal donations for an end-of-year event, it was a no-brainer for Priscilla Tarango, who is Restaurant General Manager (RGM) for our Knickerbocker Road Taco Bell 10 minutes away.
“I try to help out in the community when need be,” Priscilla says.
After getting approval from her Area Coach (AC), Priscilla and Assistant General Manager Shawna Davis jumped into action. The resulting donation to the school included warm bean and cheese burritos; soft tacos; and cinnamon twists. Reagan Elementary serves a predominantly low-income student body so this simple gesture went a long way.
“It just gives me a good feeling to give back.”

Priscilla, who’s worked for Desert de Oro Foods (DDO) for a decade, says she’s usually met with plenty of support from her AC John McAdams when there’s need in the community.
“If somebody comes up and they need some help, I call my AC,” she explains.” And he usually says ‘go for it.’”
Priscilla says DDO has been a really great company to work for in that regard.
Being a part of something bigger than us has always been important at DDO.
While this was the first time her team dished out kid-friendly fare to Reagan Elementary, it’s not their first donation in the San Angelo community. According to Priscilla, her restaurant team regularly donates to other schools in the area, the local fire department, and volunteers of the city’s annual Tour of Lights. They also showed up for their community during last year’s floods.
“It just makes us feel good,” she says.
Sadly, Reagan Elementary is one of two elementary schools in the district slated to close at the end of the 2026-27 school year. Priscilla feels good about stepping in during the school’s last year.
